Never Enough Time

Never Enough Time

Personal Growth, Relationships, Travel
Since applying for the Peace Corps a mere 16 days ago, my life has taken a radical change in direction and I feel like I have no time left!  As anyone that knows me will attest, I truly believe that things happen for a reason and when it is the right time. When something is meant to be, it will flow, and when it isn't, there will be one delay after another. I have been wrestling with my next steps for over a year now.  Through it all, I always knew my time in Charleston was transient. I have made friends, found work, and embraced new loves. This place has given me the opportunity to work through my goals, mindsets, dreams, and sorrows. In some cases, it felt like a tortuous…

Seeds of Potential

Seeds offer potential life. For me, it is personal growth and travel. I woke this morning and realized that one of my avocados was getting dangerously ripe. I just cut off a small portion of the top and ate straight from the rind. When I got to the pit, I pulled it out, washed it off, then placed it with the others I have sitting next to my sink. I already have planted one, and there are only so many that you can realistically grow at any given point, so I just collect them. It suddenly struck me - I can't throw them away! (more…)

19 Months and A New Life

Health, Ketosis Diet, Personal Growth, Relationships, Top Posts, Travel
I finished my journal last night. It is the journal I have been working from since February of 2017. In these 19 months, I have created a new life. The very first entry was affirmations that I created after reading The Miraculous Morning by Hal Elrod. This post is not about that book, but it is a great read, and it inspired me to accomplish a number of things that I have in the past year and a half. Here are the affirmations that I wrote on Feb 6, 2017: I want to live a lifestyle that allows me the opportunity to secure wealth and stability. I want to own land and property for both investment and wealth-building. I want to be healthy and slim to maximize my quality of…

Amazing Grocery Stores – Appreciating Charleston

Amazing Grocery Stores – Appreciating Charleston

Health, Personal Growth, Travel
On day 2 of appreciating Charleston, I began by thinking of the lovely scenery and maybe I would write something about that. Then it hit me, this place has amazing grocery stores! When I was living in Florida, I became spoiled with Publix. Publix had everything, and the prices were really good! No matter what I wanted, Publix served it up! You can imagine my distress, then, whereupon landing in Charleston, I realized I did not have a Publix near me. Fortunately, there is one down the street from one of my jobs, so I can still get my fix weekly. It has only been over time that Charleston has offered up these amazing stores to my consciousness. It began with the realization that there was a Trader Joe's about…

Wannamaker State Park – Appreciating Charleston

Wannamaker State Park – Appreciating Charleston

Health, Personal Growth, Relationships
For my first day of appreciating Charleston, I decided to revisit Wannamaker State Park. The reason was perhaps a bit subconscious at first, but it was where my darling and I would spend our Sunday mornings going for nature walks. He has been on my mind a lot, lately, and it was sweet and sad to revisit the trails that we once walked together. Wannamaker is a lovely little park near the Charleston Southern University in North Charleston. My sweet man had purchased an annual pass last year, and when it expired, I did the same. I love going to the beach, and the pass has long since paid for itself. With that said, the price of admittance is only $2. There is a dog park, a water park, playgrounds,…
